A third update of Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 released on November 1996. First version compatible with Windows 95 and last version to support Windows 3.1. In addition, this is the last version of Acrobat Reader compatible with Mac 68K machines.
Versions of the Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Reader with Search are available for 16-bit Windows (Windows 3.1), 32-bit Windows (Windows 95, NT 3.51, and NT 4.0), Macintosh, Sun Solaris, SunOS, HP-UX, IBM AIX, and SGI IRIX. In addition, versions of the Acrobat Reader are now also available for Linux, Digital Unix, and OS/2.
System Requirements:
– x86-based personal computer (386 minimum; 486, Pentium, or Pentium Pro recommended)
– Macintosh computer with 68020 (Macintosh II series)
– Microsoft Windows 3.1, Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Microsoft Windows 95,
Microsoft Windows NT 3.5.1 or 4.0, Linux, or UNIX
– MacOS 7.0 or later
– 4 MB application RAM or more for Windows
– 3300 KB application RAM for 680×0-based Macintosh computers
– 5 MB hard disk space, plus 7 MB additional temporary disk space available during installation
– For viewing PDF files inside of a Web browser:
Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later (3.0.1 or later recommended)
including the Netscape Navigator 4.0 component of Netscape Communicator 4.0
or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later.
(Netscape Navigator 2.0.2 can also be used with limitations; e.g. it will not allow you to submit a
PDF form. You may also be able to use other Web browsers that FULLY support the Netscape
APIs.)
